277/480 Volt 3-Phase System (High Voltage Industrial)

This color coding scheme is commonly used in industrial environments for higher-voltage systems to clearly differentiate phase conductors for safety and maintenance.

Phase & Ground Color Codes

  • L1 (Line 1): Brown
  • L2 (Line 2): Orange
  • L3 (Line 3): Yellow
  • N (Neutral): Gray
  • PE (Protective Earth / Ground): Green or Green with Yellow Stripe

Note: This scheme is widely adopted in North America for 277/480V systems.
